Living in New York City

New York City is the largest city in the United States. This city is home to the best of everything, from arts and entertainment, to shopping and fashion, historic institutions and museums, iconic American landmarks and all that's in between. Among the many other things that it's known for, New York City is considered to be the cultural capital of the world and that heritage is reflected through many of its attractions and all of its locals.

NYC is an important factor in global finance and international affairs; the city is home to the United Nations Headquarters and the New York Stock Exchange. There are around 45 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the city, including Colgate-Palmolive, Pfizer, CBS Corporation, NBC Universal, Viacom, Time Warner Cable, Morgan Stanley, and Estee Lauder Companies.

Along with its reputation as a financial hub, New York City is well known for its vivacious entertainment industry. A few famous entertainment destinations within the city include Broadway, the Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center, Carnegie Hall, and Madison Square Garden, among many, many others. The city's art scene also rivals that of any other city in the world, with famous institutions like the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Upon visiting New York City, you'll learn that it is so much more than the world-famous attractions – it's a world all its own! The culture, the cuisine, the history and heritage can be retold over and over again, but nothing compares to exploring The Big Apple on your own and seeing these American icons right before your eyes.
